175g/6oz sifted plain flour
50g/2oz caster sugar
50g/2oz light or dark muscovado sugar
100g/3½oz cold butter chopped in cubes
100g/3½oz Quaker Oats
Rub together the flour, caster sugar, muscovado sugar and cold butter cubes until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add the Quaker Oats and mix. Press well down on top of the fruit ingredients. Bake according to the fruit requirements and the topping is lightly browned ( although 45 minutes or so at 180c usually seems to work well for most fillings).
