Blueberry and Apple Oat Crumble

Preparation:

450g desert apples ,peeled &cored

100g of caster sugar

1 level teaspoon ground cinnamon

75g plain flour

100g butter

100g of Quaker wholegrain rolled oats

500g of blueberries

Add to basket
  1. Preheat oven to 180C/gas mark 4 & grease an ovenproof dish. Cut apples into large chunks and place in a saucepan  with about 2 tablespoons of water. Stir in half the sugar and the cinnamon  and cook over a medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes stirring from time to time.
  2. Meanwhile place the plain flour in a large mixing bowl and rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs then stir in the Quaker 100% wholegrain rolled oats and the remaining sugar.
  3. Transfer the apples and their juices to the prepared dish and top up with the blueberries, then sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the top. Press the topping down lightly. Bake for about 25 minutes or until the topping is crisp and golden.
